Les Miserables Join us on Saturday, May 14, 2011, when we go to the Overture Center in Madison for this stunning production, the longest running musical in Broadway history. Based on Victor Hugo's 1862 novel of the same name, set in early nineteenth-century France, the plot follows the stories of the escaped convict Jean Valjean, the policeman Javert, Fantine the factory worker, her daughter Cosette and Marius, the man Cosette loves as they struggle for redemption and revolution.
